Costs for Divorce, Children Arrangements & Financial Order Applications From January 2020

1. Straightforward Divorce (i.e. both parties’ consent to divorce, no additional applications required, no hearings, no delays and no complexity)


1. Our fees:

Acting for Petitioner – £1300.00

Acting for Respondent – £850.00

2. Court Fee – £593.00
3. Any additional applications will require a court application fee (Amount will depend on the application) and our fee of £99.00 to prepare each additional application.


2. For cases that are not straightforward, the fees above will only be the minimum, not fixed. There will be additional fees depending on the particular issues involved, or the changes that occur.


3. Where there are children under 18, arrangements for the children must also be dealt with.


1. If Parties Agree:

Where the parties have agreed on the arrangements for children, our fees will start from £1500.00 and court fees from £215.00

(Please note: If there are any delays or any changes, these fees will also change)

2. If you don’t agree or cases involving social services:

We do not handle these matters as they require more expertise than the firm can currently provide. We can refer you to another solicitor with more expertise.




Financial / Separation of Assets

• Consent Agreement:

Terms agreed: Simple clean break cases or cases where an amicable agreement has already been reached between the parties, our professional fees will range from £1200.00 – £2000.00 Excluding the court fee. (to prepare consent agreement, witness for one party, prepare the D81 and Form A, submit to the court).

• Consent Agreement:

Terms not agreed: (advise and assist one party to reach an agreement, prepare consent agreement, witness for one party, prepare the D81 and Form A, submit to the court) our professional fees will start from £1500.00 Excluding the court fee.

• Financial Order Applications: costs will generally start from £5000.000.

For all cases, the application fees and our fees will increase depending on a number of factors, for example: the size of the asset pool, where a property transfer or a pension order is required, the time taken and work involved for the parties to reach an agreement, and where they fail to reach an agreement, the number of additional applications required, number of court hearings, and the length of time taken for the matter to be dealt with by the court.

4. Court fees, fees to third parties and Representation at court are called disbursements and are never included in our fees.
