Independent Legal Advice is required for different reasons on a range of matters. Where more than one person requires advice, there will be an additional fee for each additional person. Anderson Browne Solicitors can advise in the following cases:

  • Directors required to give a personal guarantee and indemnity when taking a loan or mortgage in the name of a limited company
  • Individuals required to give a personal guarantee for a loan/mortgage that they are not benefitting from for e.g. parents guaranteeing a mortgage for their son/daughter
  • Other Agreements where an individual is required to receive independent legal advice before signing (excludes Settlement Agreements)

If you do not require complex provisions in your Will, our simple Will service may be what you need. Drafting of simple Wills for an individual or a couple requiring mirror Wills in easy steps:

  • Book an appointment and provide advance information as required.
  • Attend your appointment to discuss your needs and ask any questions.
  • Check your draft Will when received and Sign with witnesses when finalised.

    • must be limited to 20 pages or 20 minutes reading time

    • Ensure this type of meeting is suitable

This consultation can be:

  • Face-to-face / telephone / remote meeting
  • Takes place at the allocated time with a qualified solicitor
  • Please provide all relevant documents in advance or bring them to the meeting

    • Ensure this type of meeting is suitable

  • Face-to-face only
  • By appointment and limited to 15 minutes
  • Will take place at our Bishops Stortford office
  • At the allocated appointment time

  • Payment must be made in full before or at your appointment time, in person or online bank transfer in the case of a telephone consultation.

  • You can have up to the allocated time with a lawyer to get the advice and guidance you need on how to proceed and whether there is any action you should be considering.
  • You can use this time for us to look at or review any documents or get advice on the legal consequences or procedures
  • Except for the free consultation which must be face to face, all other appointments will either take place at our Bishops Stortford office, by telephone, or other remote means, whichever is suitable for you. Our normal office hours are Monday to Friday 9:30-6pm(no face to face appointments will be scheduled after 5:30). Telephone and remote consultations however may be outside office hours (except weekends) to suit you.
  • *BONUS* If you instruct us to proceed with the matter, on the day of your consultation, 50% of the consultation fee will be deducted from the final bill on completion of the matter.

  • We will not confirm the advice in writing unless the document can be prepared within your allocated consultation time.
  • We will not engage in email or telephone correspondence with any third party on your behalf as part of a one-off consultation.
  • If you are involved in court proceedings, we will not contact the court in any way, or attend court as your representative, and you will remain a litigant in person. Any document prepared on your behalf will be in your name only, except where you instruct us to act on your behalf.
  • We will not retain your documents.
  • We are under no on-going obligation to you other than the obligation to provide reliable advice at the meeting.
